Research Interest

The research fields related to the built environment engineering,

Thermal comfort, Indoor air quality,  Passive ventilation,  Natural lighting,  Efficient and low energy building

The main aim to achieve healthy and comfortable residential environments with the minimum burden on the natural environment. The research focuses on living environment problems in hot arid climate.

Current research themes include

(1) Passive system cooling System (Solar chimney & wind tower), ventilation systems

Solar chimney is a system that generates air movement by thermal buoyancyforces, in which hot air rises and exits from the chimney, drawing air throughthe building in a continuous cycle.

Wind tower is a single duct to facilitate the supply and extraction of air. It is is an effective strategy for decreasing indoor temperature.

(2 ) Building design

Effect of building design on energy consumption, low energy building, renewable energy system.

Low-energy houses often use active solar and passive solar building design techniques and components to reduce their energy expenditure. Different terms are used as

high-performance house, passive house / Passivhaus, zero carbon house, zero energy house, energy savings house, energy positive house.

(3) Indoor environment thermal comfort and Indoor air quality,Student performance in educational building

Thermal comfort is defined as ‘the condition of the mind which expressessatisfaction with the thermal environment and is assessed by subjectiveevaluation’. It also defines thermal sensation as a conscious feeling, commonlygraded into categories of cold to neutral to hot
